“Ubuntu bam” is about embracing and celebrating the rich cultural heritage we share as South Africans—recognising that it’s our differences that unite us and shape who we are as a people. I’ve expressed this through the image of a Xhosa woman smoking a traditional pipe, known as “umbheka phesheya”—a symbol of wisdom, identity, and quiet strength.
